Rep. Santos’ campaign ‘violated federal campaign finance law’ by not specifying sources of funding

The Federal Election Commission is claiming that Rep. George Santos’ campaign “violated federal campaign finance laws” by not specifying the true sources of his campaign’s funding.

It also calls into question how Santos loaned his campaign $705,000 when financial disclosure reports indicate he only had $55,000 to his name in 2020.

The complaint accuses Santos’ campaign of falsifying its reported disbursements.
