The Tonga Table Tennis Federation’s Fiefia Business House competition was won by the Ministry of Finance Team, on 24 November.
The competition which started last year promotes networking between people from different organizations, and includes the disabled community on a competitive platform.
Starting on 13 October, the competition had three organizations with a total of five teams; Ministry of Finance with two teams, Tonga Power Ltd. Matatoa with two teams, and a team from the Naunau ‘o e ‘Alamaite Tonga Association (NATA) held at Matatoa Centre.
Results
Ministry of Finance Team, first place, Tonga Power Ltd Matatoa (Team 1) second, Tonga Power Matatoa (Team 2) third, and NATA fourth, with the other Ministry of Finance team, in fifth.
All teams received cash prizes with trophies awarded to the topt three teams. The prizes for best male and female players for the competition were awarded to Laipeli Finau of (TPL Matatoa, Team 1) and Uina Paea of the (Ministry of Finance, Team 1).
Project Manager of the Smash Down Barriers Program, Sam Davey from ITTF Oceania, gave out the prizes assisted by Hasiloni Fungavai, President of TTTF.
TTTF acknowledged the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Tonga for sponsoring this year’s Business House Competition, their constant supporter since the competiton started last year.
