Pune: Union minister of state for finance Bhagwat Karad on Friday said the government and the RBI were looking to adopt blockchain and other technology to set up 75 digital banks, including in cities in Maharashtra.
He was speaking at a symposium on tax exemptions for NGOs, organised by the Income Tax Department and a media group in Pune.
Karad said the Union government has taken steps to shut down NGOs that did “no actual work”, encouraging active and working NGOs with tax exemptions and not raising taxes.
