Austin airport authorities are responding to a bomb threat in its baggage claim area

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is responding to an active bomb threat in its baggage claim area, the airport said in a statement on Twitter on Friday.

The airport said that only one of baggage carousels was cordoned off, and that passengers could pick baggage up from other carousels in the meantime.

Traffic has been diverted to the airport’s upper-level roadway, the airport said.

The details of the bomb threat remains unclear.
