Pu Finance Board Suggests ₹1k Cr Budget | Chandigarh News

Chandigarh: During the BoF meeting held on Friday, the board recommended revenue budget of Rs 1,014.41 crore for 2022-23, including the liability of implementation of revised pay scales of teachers and non-teaching staff, effective from January 1, 2016. The issue of revised pay scales, which has been pending for a long time was also discussed.
Teachers at PU are yet to receive the benefit of revised salary scales in accordance with the UGC seventh pay commission as the Punjab government has still not implemented it. Regarding the implementation of revised pay scales, it was decided to constitute a committee which would examine financial implications for follow-up with the Government of Punjab and the ministry of education, GoI/UGC for release of additional grants. On pending grant of Rs 21 crore under PMS scheme, a nominee of Punjab government assured early resolution.
